Born in France, she has over 15 years of experience in the luxury fashion industry in Paris and London, where her journey with craftsmanship began in the world of textiles. She developed a deep appreciation for detail, form, and texture, which continues to inform her creative practice.
During the COVID pandemic, she discovered ceramics—a medium that instantly captivated her. Since then, she has immersed herself in exploring both the technical and artistic possibilities of this ancient yet ever-evolving practice.
Her work is an exploration of materiality, culture, history, and spirituality. Drawing inspiration from nature, light, and the ephemeral beauty of everyday moments, she creates pieces that evoke harmony, wonder, and a sense of poetry. Using various techniques such as throwing, slab building or slip casting, she approaches form and surface as an intertwined process, allowing each piece to develop organically. Her background in fashion has instilled in her a keen sensitivity to movement, colour, and texture, which now translates into her ceramic work.
Through her creations, she seeks to invite contemplation—on the balance of the world, our connections to one another, and the deeper meanings that shape our existence.
Typhaine is now based in London, where she lives with her husband and children, and regularly comes back to France to visit family and friends.
